I’m back with a brand new tutorial on how to add a glowing border in GIMP. I’ll spend a few minutes explaining and showing you the steps. Don’t forget to join my blog and tell my what you think by leaving a comment below. Now, let’s get started!
.) Select the layer you want to add a glow to.
.) Go the to the menu and click on Layer –> Transparency –> Alpha to Selection. Or Right Click (On Your Layer) –> Alpha To Selection.
.) Go to the menu and click on Select –> Grow…
.) Type in the number on how many pixels you want the glow to be. I suggest 5 is a good number.
.) Click on Ok.
.) Make a new layer and name it “Glow.”
.) Click on the Bucket Fill tool and select the color of your glow.
