GIMP Tutorial – How to Add a Lightsaber

Hi guys,

I’m here with a brand new GIMP tutorial on how to add a lightsaber. Don’t forget to leave a comment below, follow my blog, and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Now, let’s get started!

1.) Create a new black layer and change the mode to screen.

2.) Make your lightsaber selection with the paths tool and fill it in with white on your lightsaber layer.

3.) Duplicate your lightsaber layer 2 more times.

4.) Select your top layer. Go to the menu and click on Filters –> Gaussion Blur. Set the blur rate to 40.

5.) Repeat step 4 for the second layer but change the blue rate to 20. Then for the third layer make it 10.

6.) Merge the top layer to the second layer and change the mode to screen. Do the same thing one more thing.

7.) Now go the menu and click Colors –> Color Balance. You can change the color of your lightsaber from there.

And there you have it! A good-looking lightsaber. Again, don’t forget to leave a comment below, follow my blog, and subscribe to my channel. As for now, see you later!
