GIMP Tutorial – How To Clear A Certain Color

Hey guys!

1.) Select your layer.

2.) On the layer, Right Click –> Add Alpha Channel. If it is already grayed out, that means an alpha channel has already been added.

3.) Go to your toolbox and click on Select by Color tool. 

4.) Click on the color you want to get rid of. 

5.) You can do to the menu and click on Edit –> Clear or just press the Delete key on your keyboard.

6.) Go to the menu and click on Select –> None

GIMP Tutorial – How To Make Round Corners

Hello!

I’m sorry since it’s been a while since I’ve posted. But, I’ve finally came up with a brand new tutorial on how make round corners in GIMP. Now, lets get started.

Optional – Before you start, right click on your image layer and click on Add Alpha channel. If it’s grayed out, you’re good to go.

1.) Go to the menu and click on Select –> Rounded Rectangle…

2.) A window should pop up. Type in on how big you want the corner to be. 20% is a good number but I’m going with 30%. Click on Ok.

3.) Go to the menu and click on Edit –> Copy. Or press Control/Command + C.

4.) Go to the menu again and click on Edit –> Paste As –> New Image.

Mail Tutorial – How To Set Up A Hotmail Account

Good evening!

I’m back with a brand new tutorial on how to set up a Hotmail account on Mail. Don’t forget to tell me what you think by leaving a comment and join my blog. So, let’s get started!

1.) Open Mail. If you’re window looks like this:

Click on Continue. If not, go to menu and click on Mail –> Preferences –> Accounts. Then click on the + sign at the bottom left.

2.) Now, fill in the information below and click on Continue.

Account Type: Pop
Account Description: Describe Your Account
Full Name: Your Name Shown To Others
Email Address: Your Hotmail Address Here

3.) Fill in the information below and click on Continue.

Incoming Mail Server: pop3.live.com
User Name: Your Full Email Address
Password: Your Password

4.) Fill in the information below and click on Continue. You can check Use Authentication to log in every time you open Mail.

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.live.com


5.) Click on Continue again. Then click on Done.

GIMP Tutorial – How To Add A Glowing Border

Good afternoon!

I’m back with a brand new tutorial on how to add a glowing border in GIMP. I’ll spend a few minutes explaining and showing you the steps. Don’t forget to join my blog and tell my what you think by leaving a comment below. Now, let’s get started!

1.) Select the layer you want to add a glow to.

2.) Go the to the menu and click on Layer –> Transparency –> Alpha to Selection. Or Right Click (On Your Layer) –> Alpha To Selection.

3.) Go to the menu and click on Select –> Grow…

4.) Type in the number on how many pixels you want the glow to be. I suggest 5 is a good number.

5.) Click on Ok.

6.) Make a new layer and name it “Glow.”

7.) Click on the Bucket Fill tool and select the color of your glow.

8.) Make sure your “Glow” layer is selected and fill it in with Bucket Fill tool.

9.) Drag the “Glow” layer under the image that you want to have a glowing border.

10.) Go to the menu and click on Select None.

11.) Go to the menu and click on Filters –> Blur –> Gaussian Blur…

12.) Type in the number on how blurred you want the blur effect to be. 30.0 for both Horizontal and Vertical is a good number. Don’t forget to have RLE selected.

13.) Click on Ok.

14.) Now, if the blur isn’t strong enough, you can repeat steps 11-13 or just duplicate the layer.

Windows/Macintosh Tutorial – How To Properly Download/Install Software

Good evening!

I’m back with a brand new tutorial on how to properly install software on your computer. Now, let’s get started.

1.) When you click on the download button, a window should pop up asking for your designated location for the download. So, locate the folder where you want to download the software.

2.) Now, make a folder where all the files be stored. Name it the name of your software your going to download.

3.) Download the software and set it up within that folder.

Now, your software files will be neatly organized all in one folder. This way, you can easily locate files and uninstall it if ever need be.

Box Tutorial – How To Map It As A Network Drive On Mac

Hello!

I’m back with a brand new tutorial on how map to Box, a free online storage provider, as a network drive on your computer in the Macintosh. Don’t forget to leave some comments, share my blog on Google+, and join me as well. So, let’s get started!

1.) Go to the menu and click on  Go –> Connect To Server… You can do this or press Command + K on your keyboard.

2.) Type in either one of the addresses below. Make sure to try both to see which works. Then click on Connect.

3.) Now, it’ll ask your for your credentials. Make sure you enter in your credentials to Box, not to the computer. Also, make sure to check Remember this password in my keychain. This way, you won’t have to login every time you boot up your computer. 

4.) Click on Ok

Your Box account is now a network drive on your computer. So, whatever you put in the drive, will be automatically synced in with the only storage.
